June 16th part three

There is a large mall at the Kyoto Central train station that we haven't checked out yet and there are lots of restaurants. There is also an open area in which you can wander and see the city's lights glittering. One of the seating areas just has mood lights and plants and in the two end planters there are speakers that send trickling water and bird songs into the air ever so faintly.

The plastic food manufacturing industry must be huge! Every restaurant has a display in its window featuring all the comestibles available inside! Tonight we decide to see what the Japanese version of Italian cuisine might be. There is a "pizza and pasta set" which means that a set of specific dishes comes together as a meal. Actually you can choose the kind of pizza you want and there are several pasta and rice dishes to choose from. The set includes salad and dessert. The pizza crust is almost wafer thin and perfect. Mine has gorgonzola melted all over it and is scrumptious! The pasta noodles are wide and flat with assorted unidentifiable but delicious vegetables. One looks a bit like the device you use to measure the amount of pasta you want to cook! Dessert is a tiramasu to die for!
