June 19th - last part
Back in Gifu we go back to the hotel to change into dry clothes and meet Andy when his class is over. WE all decide to go across the street to Aqua World see hunt for dinner. After checking out several offerings we find ourselves in the food court where everyone can make his own choice. Andy takes Betsy and me with him to the ramen place and believe me it is very different from the American concept! The noodles are delicious as is the broth and it also contains a slice of pork and some fresh vegetables. Of course there are lots of other varieties, too. Nick finally get to go to his crepes place and Ginger comes back with a whole tray full of goodies!
With our tummies satisfied, we head back to Loc City to visit the Daiso or dollar store and then go to karaoke. The guys go in to figure out how the karaoke works while the ladies go shopping. The store isn't too much different from ours except there is a lot more "cute" stuff than we have. I get a small wash cloth to keep in my bag to dry off my lens. It is really hard to get to your shirt tail in the rain while managing an umbrella and camera. And there has been a lot of rain!
Down the escalator to the karaoke - we get our own private room!! And it's Room 13! They will deliver beer and soft drinks and we get two wireless mikes with which to embarrass ourselves! It turns out that Andy is really good!! It is a delight to let him sing lead while we all sing back-up! We all have a blast laughing and applauding each other and I think the beer must be a vital part of the process. Our hour is up so quickly! No one, except Andy has the stamina for another one, though, so we settle up and find to our delight that there is a cab ready and waiting for us. Hooray!!
Hey Melodie, it's Lauren and Lin. We are having so much fun living vicariously through your adventures!
ReplyDeleteOne request, bring us back some sushi and make sure it's fresh! LOL Can't wait to see you!
By the way, the pictures continue to be wonderful, but you haven't taken Stu's advice: give the camera to someone so we can see YOU in the pictures! Please? ;-)
